This session is a detailed review of Trichomonas gallinae infection in Budgerigars. This goes by a number of names including Canker. It causes a variable clinical presentation and flocks have sustained heavy losses due to this parasite. Preventative medicine is important. In small groups elimination is possible but ongoing vigilance is advised. Prevention, treatment and environmental clean-up regimes are covered looking at the most effective measures to put in place.
